New Generation Dragline Buckets Commissioned at BMA’s Caval Ridge Mine

Sunday 17th November 2014 saw the fitting of BMA Caval Ridge Mine’s latest generation Dragline “Omega” Bucket for Dragline 34 (M8050), Designed and Engineered by SIMCO Mining Products and Services, targeted to carry 110 tonnes of material in each load, with a rated capacity of 47.0 cubic metres.

The design of the Bucket features low sidewalls compared to conventional Buckets for weight reduction and material flow assistance.  It is lightweight without compromising mechanical strength and integrity.

“Moving dirt not steel” was the key goal in the design discussions between BMA Caval Ridge Mine’s Dragline, Drill and Blast Superintendent Troy Busk and Martin Simpson SIMCO’s Managing Director.

19TH December 2014 Caval Ridge Mine fitted their second “Omega” Dragline Bucket to Dragline 35, Caval Ridge Mine’s second M8050 Dragline.
